TV Actress Angela Griffin is FSID’s Save a Baby Month celebrity patron -
Actress Angela Griffin is fronting the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths’ (FSID) Save a Baby Month appeal in May - helping to raise money to fund cot death research and support bereaved families.
Shockingly, 500 babies still die suddenly and unexpectedly every year, and the majority – commonly known as cot deaths – remain a mystery. FSID is the only national charity funding research into sudden infant death and supporting bereaved families. Its annual Save a Baby Month campaign highlights the importance of further research into sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and asks people to participate by walking a Mile in Memory on Saturday 17 May, 11am. People who would like to get involved in the event should visit http://www.fsid.org.uk or call 020 7222 8001.
Angela Griffin said: “Sudden Infant Death is every new parent’s worst fear. As a mother myself I am a strong supporter of the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths’ vital work to prevent the tragedy of cot death and support families who have endured the agony of losing a baby.”
Joyce Epstein, FSID Director said: “We are thrilled Angela Griffin is supporting FSID’s Save a Baby Month campaign. As a mother, Angela is aware of the anguish parents go through thinking about cot death, and the importance of the ‘reduce the risk’ messages. Angela has been very proactive in promoting our infant health messages and we are very, very grateful for her support.”
